Hyundai SmartSense Features

This advanced technology uses cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and radars to monitor your surroundings and detect potential collisions. With its real-time alerts, you can take corrective action and stay safe on the road. Discover the impressive features available with Hyundai SmartSense today.

Driving Safety Features:

  • Forward-Collision Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection – This feature uses the sensors and radars on the front of the vehicle to detect a forward collision. If a potential collision is detected, an alert will be sent to the driver, and if corrective action is not taken, then the emergency brakes will be activated.
  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist – When traveling in a set lane and initiating your turn signal to change lanes, your vehicle will monitor the adjacent lane for other vehicles. If another vehicle is detected, then the vehicle will automatically apply the right or left brake to prevent you from changing lanes.
  • Blind-Spot View Monitor – The digital instrument cluster will display a live video feed of your blind spot from the side-view mirror cameras when you use the turn signal for a lane change.
  • Lane Following Assist – The camera on the front of the vehicle will monitor the lane markings and help you steer your vehicle to keep you centered in the lane.
  • Lane Keeping Assist – If your vehicle detects an unintentional lane change, the vehicle will use visual and audio cues to alert the driver. If corrective action is not taken, the vehicle will gently apply corrective steering assistance to keep the vehicle within the lane.
  • Driver Attention Warning – Your vehicle will monitor your attention while driving. If it notices a pattern that is commonly related to drowsiness or inattentiveness, then the vehicle will use visual and audio cues to warn the driver.
  • High Beam Assist – When oncoming vehicles are detected, your vehicle can toggle between the low and high beams.

Driving Convenience Features:

  • Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go – You can preset a following distance that can help you maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. If the vehicle comes to a complete stop, it can reactivate itself if the vehicle in front moves within three seconds.
  • Highway Driving Assist – When Smart Cruise Control or Lane Following Assist is activated, the vehicle can help keep your vehicle a safe distance from the vehicle it’s following while also keeping it centered in the lane and maintaining your speed.
  • Highway Driving Assist II – This feature uses the same elements as Highway Driving Assist. It allows you to change lanes automatically when you use your turn signal at 37 mph or higher. This feature can also keep your vehicle away from other vehicles that may be driving too close and can react to vehicles that cut you off.
  • Downhill Braking Control – Your vehicle can slow down automatically when traveling downhill while also maintaining a slower speed to safely steer away from obstacles caused by traffic, weather, or road conditions.

Parking Safety Features:

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist – When you’re reversing out of a parking space or driveway, your vehicle can help detect traffic from the left or right. It will apply the brakes if a vehicle is detected.
  • Advanced Rear Occupant Alert – Your vehicle will display a visual alert on the dashboard when the engine is turned off, reminding the driver to check the rear seat. Overhead sensors also monitor the rear seats to ensure no children or pets are left inside after the vehicle is parked and locked. If your vehicle detects movement, the horn will honk, lights will flash, and your phone will receive an alert from Bluelink®.
  • Rear Occupant Alert – This feature reminds the driver to check the back seats before exiting the vehicle.
  • Safe Exit Assist – When attempting to exit your vehicle, this feature will monitor the surroundings for vehicles approaching from behind and keep the doors shut until it’s safe to open them.
  • Safe Exit Warning – This feature will detect vehicles approaching from behind when the vehicle is parked and will alert the driver of the hazard.

Parking Convenience Features:

  • Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist – If a potential collision is detected when you are reversing out of a parking spot, the vehicle will automatically apply the brakes.
  • Surround View Monitor – This feature will display a bird’s eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings on your touchscreen display.
  • Premium Remote Smart Parking Assist – This feature allows the vehicle to park itself, even if you’re not behind the wheel; all you have to do is press and hold the Smart Key button. With this feature, you parallel park and enter into and exit out of parking spaces.
  • Remote Smart Parking Assist – This feature can park itself without assistance from the driver by backing into or out of parking spaces using the Smart Key button.
  • Parking Distance Warning - Front and Reverse – Sensors located on the front and rear bumps will help detect objects or vehicles that the driver may not see.
